Montreux Jazz Festival. Nothing is Ever Locked

If everything in the world is nonsense, what prevents us from inventing some sense?

In some ways photography (even the most unprofessional one) can be defined as a healing management of the soul. Through photography you become a true architect, creating and managing your own little image of life, the way you want it to appear, the way you percept it. “If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't…” wisely suggested my favourite book character Alice in Lewis Carroll's novel Alice in Wonderland.

Here is the small selection of pictures I took last month in Montreux, Switzerland, during the outstanding jazz festival, which hosted a great amount of jazz musicians, such as Quincy Johns, Joe Cocker, George Benson and hypnotizing Marcus Miller. The city itself holds a strong energy that these great men leave on its stages for 47 years now. 2013 however was a very special and nostalgic one, it was the first time when the festival took place without its founder Claude Nobs, who died earlier this year. The festival was founded in 1967 and turned out to be a world-renowned event, a place where the real music takes over, inspires and opens up every single spirit. I had a strange feeling that nothing is ever locked in this place; I suggest you go and experience this incredible sense of great width in this little beautiful town.
